When Does The Hedonic Line Become a Problem?

There are some events that our brain reads as so strong and powerful that the events can move our hedonic line up higher.  This is not a good thing.  Unfortunately, when our hedonic line moves higher, the end result is achieving pleasure becomes difficult.   These events that have the power to move the hedonic line up higher included things we both can and can not control.  Events we can not control included biological depression, or death in the family.  Events that we can control included using substances, or other addictive behaviors.  Either Way, when that hedonic line moves higher, it becomes much harder for us to experience pleasure from ordinary events.
